Well whadaya know?
This is the main issue in Bunyip at the moment! The main point of contention (aside from the issue of subdivision) is that the councilor for the ward (Bunyip Ward) has a vested interest in the matter. In fact, she is one of the landholders who are appealing to get the land subdivided. In the last few weeks, she has sat against local residents (her constituency) on a panel hearing, she has claimed that the people of Maryknoll are but a 'small vocal minority', ergo she doesn't have to listen to them. In addition to this, I believe she stands to make quite a large sum of money if the subdivision is approved.

Bah I say! What a great mess...I'll see if I can dig up my local newspaper cuttings of some interesting articles.

The mayor and Cnr Ward......basically our esteemed Mayor and Cnr Ward are all for economic development, which is fine, but when you have a vested interest in the proceedings (Cnr Ward, I believe, will make quite a large sum of cash if the subdivision goes ahead). Although Ms Ward ( I now refuse to call her Councillor) has done everything by the rules, she has bent these rules a hella lot and while she claims to have put everything on 'public record', her actions speak for themselves and show her up as a devious devil-women with no thought to representing her contituency.

The Mayor is just as bad...I'll find some dirt on her tomorrow.
